New Interns at ‘Imiloa
Introducing new ‘Imiloa Interns:
Sally Lau & Sharyse Molina, two interns from Waiakea High School. Their internships with ‘Imiloa are for their Senior Projects before they graduate at the end of spring 2014.
Sally Lau is currently focusing her studies on physics and Japanese. She plans to major in Astronomy at UH Hilo. She enjoys stargazing with the new telescope that she recently bought. At ‘Imiloa she hopes to learn more about optics, light, and infrared technology, specifically how infrared telescopes work. She would like to teach children of all ages about these topics.
Sharyse Molina plans to pursue a degree in education at UH Hilo, as she hopes to become an elementary school teacher. She enjoys dancing (hula, hip-hop or anything!), singing, learning about different cultures, taiko drumming, and reading. She is her school’s May Day Queen this year! During her internship at ‘Imiloa she hopes to learn about ways to apply hands-on technology in the classroom. She also hopes to learn more about astronomy and Hawaiian culture.
